Our network is a flat network, all routing takes place at the NOC where the Mikrotik lives.
I just replaced a Cisco switch in the middle of my network today at our HUB Tower Site with the Netonix WS-12-250-DC. We installed these at our NOC and our Main Tower. This tower connects to others and back to the Main Tower. I have email monitoring setup on all my backhaul IPS and I kept getting emails that one of the Towers was going down. I have narrowed it down to one particular Tower Site.
STP Status keeps going from forwarding to discarded. This goes on back and forth over and over again.
I can run a constant ping to the affected Tower site and the packet loss is evident during the status change in the Netonix switch.
My question is what causes this status : discarding? I have disabled STP to temp fix the situation but I would like to have it back on.
The affected tower site on the other side of this link has a Toughswitch 5 I plan to replace asap. Are their any know issues with them working with Netonix.
STP KEEPS GOING TO DISCARDED STATUS?

Re: STP KEEPS GOING TO DISCARDED STATUS?
What firmware version are you running?
I have heard that ToughSWITCH does not implement RSTP properly?
Also CIsco does have a proprietary RSTP that we do not work with but not sure from your description if there are any other Cisco's in the mix?
You need to specify your firmware version. Please try the latest code which is v1.4.2rc6 which is basically v1.4.1 with a couple fixes for reported bugs.
You need to post up screen grabs of all your Config Tabs and a network diagram.

v1.4.1 is fine so long as you disable the Discovery Tab on the Device/Configuration Tab but I am still urging people to use v1.4.2rc6
Do me a favor and load v1.4.2rc6 just for giggles and to eliminate that as a possibility, beyond that you will need to post up your Tabs and a network diagram.
