I have recently upgraded to firmware 1.4.2 one WS-12-250AC, and after update I change the description of one port, using dots (.) in it.
After this change I'm unable to change any parameter of the configuration. Always an error is returned. Restore config and/or downgrade neither works properly.
Always after 60 secs. countdown...
Or restoring
Some suggestion? I need to recover switch control without a factory reset.
Thanks in advance

Re: Problem after Port Description renaming
Well, I made the same change on my switch and it seemed to work fine.
Can you backup the config and email it to eric@netonix.com?

Re: Problem after Port Description renaming
Problem solved!! Thanks to everybody!!
Finally, the problem was not related to port's renaming description, but SMTP config.

Re: Problem after Port Description renaming
Thanks for getting back to us.
We are fixing the code/firmware to better deal with mis-configured SMTP and or loss or poor communications to mail servers so it does not mess up the switch.
I think we have it fixed in v1.4.3rc4 and newer?
