for the 12-250-AC and DC models, there are two parts that need to be replaced by a solder bridge or 0 ohm resistor or jumper wire, or any other means of causing the two solder pads to become electrically identical..
On the board with the heat sink, sfp and ethernet stacks, components marked C18 and C94 are ground shunts; as designed they are sufficient for momentary shifts in ground potential, but if there is a sustained shift they become resistive more quickly than needed, so putting a shorting block in is the more prophylactic option. Since we've started doing this mod, I've seen zero (0) returns due to ground current damage that had the mod in place.
For C18, it is the tantalum cap located directly next to TP4 near the bottom left corner of the board (with the ports facing you)
For C94, it is the rightmost of the two tantalum caps located at the right edge of the ethernet stack, right below TP17. the orange polyfuses can be gently bent out of the way to get to this, but they need to be moved back as they are thermal devices and derate with proximity, if that makes sense.
Chris is working on a full instructional post, take a look at this post: http://forum.netonix.com/viewtopic.php? ... MOD#p17448
Console reports this on boot, what next?
