IP CAMERA Not Powered On on Netonix WS-12-250-DC Switch

Good Morning to You all,
we have a big issue with our CCTV installation. we have several Netonix WS-12-250W DC switches, on which are connected IP Cameras. the Camera Model are Hikvision DS-2CD2612F-I(www.hikvision.com/us/Products_1_10534_i8714.html) , that can be Powered on in 802.3af POE. the switch is powered by a 24V UPS. the issue is that when we connect the IP Camera on the switch, it dont Power On. But if we configure the port to 48V 1A, the Camera goes On, but the 12 port switch cant support 4 IP cameras in this Configuration.
Please, can you tell me if there is a specific cable to made co connect the Camera to the switch?

Well if you look at the speck sheet for the camera you see this:
Power Supply:|12 VDC ± 10%, PoE (802.3af) <= THIS IS "ACTIVE" POE

Our switch is "PASSIVE" POE.

Our switches are more designed to power WISP equipment which uses 24V and 48VH (HIGH CURRENT ON ALL 4 PAIR) which can not be powered by active POE switches. Now you can power "active" POE devices with our switches but you have to manually turn POE on for the port.

Now you can power "active POE devices but you have ti manually turn POE on for the port

Go to the ports TAB and select the port the camera is on and set POE option to 48V NOT 48VH

COMMON QUESTIONS:

Question: Can I power 802.3af/at devices such as cameras and phones with Netonix Switches?

Answer: YES, but since they are a "passive" POE switch you will have to manually turn on POE for the port. Most 802.3af/at devices use 48V NOT 48VH. Never use 48VH until you verify your device will accept power on all 4 pairs.

Hi Sirhc,

Is there an intent in the roadmap to have an active PoE variant of your switches? Most of the time it is not an issue but occasionally I would like higher temp rated switches but connections will be client facing so I don't want the risk of damaging equipment when someone connects a computer to the wrong port.

Maybe someday.

"Normally" there is no damage plugging a NON POE device into a port that has passive POE turned on but it is possible.

Damage usually occurs with the wrong POE option or shorted cables
