Greetings:
Brand new out of the box (received today from Streakwave) WS-12-250-AC board rev F
Had 1.55 preloaded. still seeing the VLAN traffic issue as previously reported.
Attempted to install 1.53. Got error message saying I needed to install 1.53 or newer because of a new temp sensor chip.
Hmm, I AM trying to install 1.53!!!
Ok, so went to try installing 1.55 and hoping just that step would resolve the VLAN traffic issue.
I get the SAME message. Need to install 1.53 or newer because of new temp sensor chip.
What gives ?? I've got a bunch of units that need to be pre-configured before being deployed to the field.
BRAND NEW WS12-250-AC will not upgrade to 1.55

Re: BRAND NEW WS12-250-AC will not upgrade to 1.55
In one of their other threads they basically admitted their new build & preconfig process might be suspect. I have the feeling they would like to physically get at your switch so they can hunt that down using the evidence in your switch.
If you are in a real hurry and can't wait for their debugging, you might be able to get by with the manual serial port recovery:
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1073
But remember a serial port is low speed, so it may take a while, and then still may not help.

I'm always willing to help Chris and team out.
This specific unit is a replacement for a DEAD (after 1 day of being in the field, proper grounding, etc) unit.
I've got about 24 hours until I must get this new site back up and running

Hey john, try installing the latest rc release here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=240
It should still solve the VLAN issue.

Our SOP / STIG's does not allow RC / Beta, etc to be used in a production network.

John, since it seems like you have nothing to lose and you are under a time crunch ...
First let me say I am going by the fact that in my experience, downgrading WS firmware has only ever been blocked when new hardware on the board requires a particular level or above. I have not gotten blocked going to those levels. That's why I thought yours might have had something go wrong on the initial build process.
Since the switch is unusable for you now, what if you try to install v1.5.6rcX, and then reinstall v1.5.5 so that you can comply with the rules?
If that doesn't work, it sure seems like they need to clean up their build process.
(Maybe also try downloading a new copy of v1.5.5 into a separate folder, just in case your management PC is playing file naming or selection games with you. :) )
