I am getting 1% dropped packets on an interface. I've replaced everything and I can't figure out why. It will drop a bunch of packets at once, not a packet here and there. The logs showed this but didn't know if that meant anything?

Re: dropped packets
Okay, looking at things closer it looks like the port starts discarding packets which lasts for about 14 seconds. Looking at the logs this seems to happen roughly every 40 minutes(2400 seconds). 14 packets out of 2400 would explain the 1% packet loss. Granted it's less but rounded up would give you the 1% reading.
Now I just need to figure out why it is discarding packets. There isn't a loop but could something else be causing this? Should I disable STP?

Re: dropped packets
As long as there is no loop, disabling STP should be fine.
