Re: v1.2.0rc12 bug reports and comments
Hey Everyone, Chris asked me to do some further testing of the discovery tool feature. It seems that the Ubiquiti Discovery Tool will only discover the switches when it is first opened. Subsequent scans will not display the switches whether you just hit scan or clear then scan. But once i close the application and open it back up I again see our switches here at the office in the list. This seems to be the case with both versions 2.3 and 2.4.1. A few times now I have noticed that one switch will not be discovered. It is not the same switch every time however and it seems to happen randomly.

I really don't undersand why it would be confusing. I'm not asking to remove hierarchy but just add the "show" command in every hierarchy. Even if added, your not obligated to use it and can still work the way you already do. Also, you can't have two serial access.
Not sure for Cisco since I didn't work on those for a long time but I know that in HP, TP-Link and Ubnt (EdgeSwitch) switchs, the "show" command is also available in configuration hierarchys.

It is weird how inconsistent it is. 2.3 on open is the only one that works for me. I have also tried v5.5.6 WebUI tools pulldown in addition to v5.6.1B, neither of those works.
Have you tried to Wireshark the traffic on this? I only tried the 2.4.1 and it seemed that it is not sending the UDP broadcast packets back from the switch.

You have a good point about serial access. Need the longest scroll buffer in the terminal program to make that usable.
