Power on ports of DC Switch

Tue Aug 11, 2015 1:17 pm

I have a DC 12 port Switch WS-12-250-DC. I have it powered with 12 volts. When I turn power on a port it trurns on as long as something is plugged in. But will not stay on if nothing is plugged into the port. If I set a port to power up and save it. when the switch reboots all ports power is then turned off. So I set the ports to on, take it to the site power it up on site and all the ports are now set to off for power.

This is the POE SMART feature.

POE Smart was supposed to have been changed that it would not TURN POE OFF if the cable was unplugged but was apparently not.

However with that being said it is NOT a good idea to unplug and plug LIVE POE ports.

You can turn it off under the Ports Tabs under the Column heading PS. If you mouse over the heading it should say POE Smart. Uncheck the boxes below
to turn OFF POE Smart for the ports.

DO NOT DOWN GRADE THE DC SWITCH TO V1.2.X OR AN OLDER VERSION OF v.1.3.X AS THIS WILL BREAK THE UNIT.

IT SHOULD NOT ALLOW YOU TO DOWN GRADE TO V1.2.5 BUT SADLY IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO DOWN GRADE IT TO V1.3.0rc11 OR OLDER WHICH WILL BRICK THE UNIT.
