Fault on SFP3 after upgrading to 1.4.4

Mon Sep 12, 2016 11:40 am

New to the forum so I apologize if this question has already been asked. I couldn't find it using the search. I just upgraded firmware to 1.4.4 on a WS-24-400B and now get a repeated fault message in the log for SFP3 shown below.

Sep 12 11:06:57 SFP: FAULT on SFP 3, resetting...

I do not use the SFP ports on this device. Is there a way to disable the SFP ports? I do not see access to them from the web management interface.

Thanks

So you are saying you have no SFP module in those ports?

Can you post up screen grabs of the Port Tab, the Device/Status Tab and the Log Tab showing the errors

Thanks for the reply. That is correct we do not have any SFP modules attached to any of the ports. Below are screen snips from the tabs you requested. I appreciate the help.

The errors cleared after doing a hard reset on the switch. It looks like we are OK for now. I appreciate you looking into it. I had tried disabling ports 25 and 26 prior to the hard reset, but it did not have any effect. Thanks again for following up.

hmmmm.....

Can you also give me the Main Status Tab but also include the header part.

And this error started after the upgrade?

We are checking something on our end as well

Thanks

Main status tab is below. Switch has been running all night and the SFP3 fault reappeared around 9:00 last night. Total uptime before the fault reappeared was approximately 10 hours. I had not seen the fault before the upgrade. With only two SFP ports on the device, am I reading the fault correctly that it is looking for a third SFP port?

Thanks!

Thanks for putting up the Status Tab.

I was looking for possible current sensor damage but all looks good so I am wanting our programmer to do some tests to see if there is a bug in v1.4.4 with the WS-24-400B but he is on vacation until Tomorrow or Thursday.

Is everything working fine for you other than the errors being thrown in the log, meaning can this wait until possibly Thursday?

Those could be coincidental any may not be related? I know it is easy to attribute any new issue to a current problem but I do not "think" they are related.
