No web gui WS-12-250-DC
I have a WS-12-250-DC switch setup and I'm not able to load the web interface. I can ping it and get into it ssh. Is their a way to restart the web gui with a ssh command I've already rebooted the router. I think something messed up because it rebooted a lot when our solar was messing up. I haven't went back out to the site and tried to directly plug in I was trying to figure it out without going out there.

If you do a 'show stat' over SSH, what's the switch's response? (omit information if necessary, leave the MAC though)

Re: No web gui WS-12-250-DC
So we have sanity; Good.
couple things to try:
from this prompt, copy and paste the below 3 lines into your session:
config t
https-server port 443
(end copy and paste at the start of this line-- you need the carriage return on the line above though)
hit control+Z to save config, and hit enter again, and look for your switch at https://youriphere.. If this works, you accidentally disabled HTTPS, happens sometimes.
If that doesn't work, you need a TFTP server installed on your machine, and a firmware upgrade package in the TFTP server's home folder.
at that point, it's pretty easy from a switch# prompt:
firmware upgrade tftp://(yourmachinehere)/(yourbinhere.bin)
and then wait until the process completes.. at that point, you should have joy.
upgrade packages can be found in the first post of the 'download latest firmware' thread on this forum.
try those, let me know how your mileage is.

Firmware upgrades do interrupt traffic for a short time, but you won't have to wait for all your radios to come back up - they won't lose power.
But you're right-- if it's not a client-side outage at this point, why make it into one?
Best of luck,
Julian

Hey guys. I'm having the same issues on about 3 switches. What is the procedure for a hard reset?

If you have ssh access you can reset defaults over terminal with the command:
Of course, if you do that keep in mind it will reboot and set it's IP address back to 192.168.1.20/24
- Code: Select all
reload defaults
