If it rebooted when you plugged another device into it the firmware probably will not fix it and you will need to RMA it as that is that the defective 3.3V CAP issue causes.
There are 2 levels to the defective CAP issues:
Level 1) It messes up voltage readings which the firmware can fix
Level 2) It causes reboots when you use more ports and the firmware will not fix that issue the only fix is for us to replace the defective CAP.

If it is the defective CAP issue it is warrantied no matter what for so long as the switch exists.
Or if you want we can tell you how to fix it "if" you're good at soldering.
But not sure why you took the board out of its chassis????

Bonjour

Re: WS-8-150DC BLACKOUT
The update doesn't have anything to do with your issue, sir.
Taking your switch out of the chassis decreases airflow and reliability, but hey, if it works for you, good.
Having the camera disabled will very likely mask your issue. In my testing here, I found that a certain percentage of units from a manufacturing run would start to go unstable after plugging x amount of cables in, removing one would return the system to stability.
Please email me your address, I will send you a kit with instructions on Monday.
