Switch rebooting periodically......

Just started seeing the same thing on a WS-6-Mini. Been up since Feb 2017, but recently added a new ubnt 24v Prism. This caused rebooting 15mins to 1 hour intervals. Took the Prism off the Netonix and powered with its own brick, but still seeing rebooting once every day (NOT 24 hrs precisely). MAC ec:13:b2:91:78:78. Upgraded to 1.5.0. 4 ports powered 24v, all Ubiquiti. Power supplied via brick that was supplied with the Mini, but have swapped it out for a new one, last week. Tested the voltage going in when powered up and it was 49.7v. Proposing to swap to a WS-8-150-AC if I can get it in the cabinet. Should I scrap the WS-6-Mini or try and get a return?

Sounds like the unit has the defective 3V CAPs, I would RMA it.

Reviving an old thread... Is this still a thing? We just had two switches recently installed, randomly rebooting.
The current switch mac is: ec:13:b2:91:2b:38 running 1.5.3.

It's being powered by a ubnt 56v poe and is only powering a single ubiquiti ONU at 3 watts. The five other ports 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are connected to customer routers (it's a small apartment complex).
If I disable port 1 and 6 the switch will stay running otherwise after about 2-3 hours it goes in to a reboot loop.
Is there a mac address range that we can check against for the cap issue mentioned here? We have swapped the ubnt poe just to be sure it's not a straight power problem.

Not sure what you mean by 5 other ports as the MINI has to be powered on port 1.

Office is fed off port 1, where the poe comes from.

We ended up doing a bunch of troubleshooting and ended up putting in a Rev B switch. Was a Rev E. And now it's stable.

Adairw, if you running copper Ethernet to differnt apartments and they plug into a device that is powered in that apartment your creating ground loops which is bad. Your bonding all the grounds from each apartment together through the switch.

Now if you powering say an AP like a UNIFI in the apartments and they are not connected to electrical or grounds in each apartment then that is fine.

Any time you run Ethernet between 2 differnt electrical panels or services you need to use fiber so as not to bond grounds and create ground loops else you will suffer equipment failures A LOT. Also ground current can cause errors before damage happens.

We seem to have a mini that just started doing this. Powered by a DC switch at the bottom. We we noticed the mini would reboot.

The switch is fully populated 2 AC prisms, 2 Light GPS APs 1 900 mhz and the uplink

Turning off STP and added features and changing 2 aps down to 100meg full seems to have stopped the rebooting.

Here is the switch info. Would this switch me impacted or related? It was running firmware 1.5.2 but we updated just to see if it was that.
