Hi,
We have a Netonix WS-12-250A in the field. The switch is running with firmware version 1.2.0.
Looking at the status, the switch shows high CPU and PHY temperature. Both Fans are not woking ( and shows 0 rpm). Why does the fans are not running ?,
Is there any temperature threshold set in the switch ?.

Re: [URGENT] High CPU Temperature
Hi.
First off, you are running very old code & should upgrade if you can.
Secondly, according to the board temp the fans should not even be running yet, as it is relatively cool inside your switch according to the board temperature reading. I can't remember if one of the software upgrades fixed a temp reading issue in the past, but worth upgrading.

Re: [URGENT] High CPU Temperature
I don't mean to go off topic, but wonder if it would hurt the fans to always be on at a low speed? In some situations I might prefer they run constantly on low rather that keep turning off and on. Maybe make it optional? Dave, we can take this discussion offline if you prefer.

Thanks. What would be your recommended firmware version for this switch ?.
Is it really a worrying issue because of the high CPU temperature ?.

Hi,
Just upgraded a brand new switch from version 1.2.x to 1.3.3. If you see the attached screenshots, both shows the same CPU and PHY temperature.
Is is correct that the CPU temperature is 72 degree Celcius ?.

Re: [URGENT] High CPU Temperature
The CPU and PHY are rated to run at 125C all day long if need be.
