I have a handful of Netonix switches and most of them seem to be just fine. I noticed an issue today on one of my towers, my management software was telling me some users were offline and even the AP's were going in/out.
Their uptime is fine, but i started pinging then and noticed 10pings would go through, then about 30 pings would drop, over and over.
I could ping the AF5x that I connect through, but I had a hell of a time pinging or getting to radios/cpe's downstream of the switch. I finally managed to load the gui long enough to trigger a reboot and it fixed it.
Update: As I type this, it is happening again. It is dropping pings to devices behind the switch.

v1.2.0 is going on half a year old and there were a LOT of changes since then.
v1.2.0 was Released 5/1/2015
This "SOUNDS" like the False Loop Protection BUG.
Did you check the LOG when this happens?
Please update to the latest version and see if there is an issue.

I tend to go by the "if it aint broke don't fix it" rule. They've been rock solid until just now.
I loaded 1.3.3 on it just now, we'll see how it goes.
Here is a screenshot of the ping logs from the CPE's from one of the 3 sectors. Green is good, the black marks are all dropped pings.

Agreed
But when and if you do experience a problem the 1st step should be to review release notes and do a firmware upgrade.

I think you will find this is Loop Protection turning off the port for 90 seconds.
However you may have another leaky network device out there allowing BPDU packets back to originating port.
I made several posts on this, here is one: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=768&p=8284&hilit=leaky#p8284
Since this was working for a long time OK and just popped up I would guess somewhere you are getting a leak or a momentary loop. Did you do any other network changes or firmware upgrades recently?
If it is Loop Protection which you will see in the LOG you can disable it under Device/Configuration Tab but I would want to know why it is happening.

Re: WS-12-250-AC intermittently stops passing traffic/pings
I turned up a new fiber peer 2 weeks ago which changed some routes/configs, but its been great since then until today.
The logs just showed ntp client starting over and over, the switch itself lost its route to the internet when I added my new fiber provider so NTP wasn't working. I have that fixed now.
I did skim over the changelogs, nothing caught my eye, I posted figuring if something about my problem sounded familiar with someone I would find an easy fix.
Either way, so far it appears to be ok. I'll report back if it changes. Thanks
This screenshot is before I rebooted/updated.

Re: WS-12-250-AC intermittently stops passing traffic/pings
Looks like it is happening again today. Pings both from my office, and even the router right at the tower site are dropping pings.
The 3 sectors are plugged into the Netonix, there is 1 uplink for those 3 sectors to the router. I'm at a loss, looking more into it now.
I'll also say I am not sure it is even the switch that is the problem. Could be anything, just grasping for ideas here. Thanks

Re: WS-12-250-AC intermittently stops passing traffic/pings
Looking further, it appears before the firmware update, the switch itself, and the 3 sectors hanging off it would all drop pings.
But now after the firmware update, (well at least so far), only the sectors are having problems responding to pings, the switch it self is responding to pings just fine.

Re: WS-12-250-AC intermittently stops passing traffic/pings
If there is nothing in the LOG such as Loop Detection and this is a FLAT network I would look into some sort of traffic causing the issue.
Is this a large flat network?

This is a newer site for us. It has 3 sectors, total of 11 clients.
Logs are empty, all 11 clients have public IPs right from the router on site.
