Hi,
I have issues with my 8-AC model.
I have changed management vlan from 1 to 100 and that works fine.
But when i change management address/network i can't reload the webui. I can ping the new network/address, but i'm unable to connect to webui or SSH.
Is this a known issue or am i doing something wrong?
From the log files i could see that the interface came up and that the address/network settings got applied.
But then after 60 seconds it restores the previous settings since i couldn't login to the webui.
Kind regards
Magnus

Re: Changing Management address?
No this is not a "known" bug, your computer is not reaching the new address in 60 seconds so the switch reverts to the previous IP.
Possible solutions:
1) Figure out if you are possibly fat fingering something or the new IP would not be reachable. Since you did not provide very much information such as the old and new IP addresses, are they in the same subnet? You do say you can ping the new address but are you sure there is not another device at that address (ip conflict maybe)?
2) Increase or Disable the switch Revert Mode which you do under the Configuration Tab. If this is v1.3.9rc13 you can put in the value 0 which will disable it. WARNING - if this is a routing or other network issue you may lose control of the switch.

Re: Changing Management address?
Well, i stated that i can reach the address over icmp, but the services on the switch doesnt seem to work on the new address.
Its a switched network and not a routed one so i dont passs any L3 interfaces on the way.
if i change to 192.168.1.25 it works, but not with my own network addresses.

Re: Changing Management address?
old ip is defajlt one. new ip is a public non rfc1918 address with the correct subnet mask and gateway.
and there is no other device configured for that address, i have verified that.

Re: Changing Management address?
So this is the steps you did:
1) Change default/management VLAN from 1 to 100 save/apply and is still accessible
2) Change ip address on the Device/Configuration Tab from 192.168.1.20 to 192.168.1.25 and now the device is pingable at .25 but you can not log into UI/CLI and after 60 seconds it reverts to 192.168.1.20
I assume if you leave it at the default IP address 192.168.1.20 all works, it is just when you change the IP on the Device/Configuration Tab that this occurs.
I am also assuming you are running v1.3.8 or v1.3.9rc13? If not v1.3.9rc13 could you try v1.3.9rc13 just for giggles.
Please post up screen grabs of your VLAN and Device/Configuration Tabs (please size/trim to display properly once posted).

What is your own network addresses?
When you say it works does that mean you are able to access it if you change it to 192.168.1.25 but not if you change to an address in a differnt sub-net?
So I thnk you are saying when you change the default address from 192.168.1.20 to a differnt address in a different subnet it does not work?
Maybe try loading v1.3.9rc13 then disable the Revert on the Device/Configuration Tab by setting to 0 (BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOSE IT)
Or maybe set to 300 seconds (5 minutes) to give you more time to troubleshoot it.

Re: Changing Management address?
That's what i'm saying, i can change to another address in the 192.168.1.0/24 network, but when i change to my own subnet (a globally routable network) i can't reach it before it reverts to the old/default address.
The switch is in production so i will need to schedule a maintenance window for this. Just wanted to ask if this was a known issue or if someone had experienced it before.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
Kind Regards
M

Re: Changing Management address?

The isse has been resolved.
