I just received a text from a WS-8-250-AC that said,
"Fan 1 is failing (0RPM, cooling level 100)
Should we be concerned and how do we test?

Please upgrade to v1.3.9rc14 and see if the error continues.

I'm also getting this:
Fan 1 is failing (0 RPM, cooling level 100, board temp 43 C)
on a WS-12-250-DC that was only installed a couple of days ago running 1.3.9 with a Board Rev: D.
Is this a real fault or maybe a software fault as implied above by the firmware update suggestion above for the older version?
thanks.

If the board temp is 50C or warmer on the device status tab with the FAN RPM reporting 0 then you may have gotten a bad fan.
Please look at device status tab and see if the fan is running when the board temp is 50C or higher and let me know.

Ok I'll keep an eye on it, I haven't seen the board temp > 43C as yet.

I'm still getting these intermittently and I haven't noticed any unusual warming. The fan speeds may be a little erratic however, maybe the fan does need replacement? (it is a brand new unit though).

Fan speed is controlled by pulse modulation so the fans speeds is not constant.
If the fan is running when the board temp is greater that 40C then I would wait until the next firmware version as we are still trying to prevent these false reports.
