Please post comments and reports bugs with v1.4.0rcX in this thread

Our first goal is to just fix any bugs or shortcomings found in v1.3.9 FINAL

We always suggest trying RC Versions on easy to access switches or better yet in lab environments first to insure they work for you.

KNOWN ISSUES
We are currently investigating a problem reported by a few customers as discussed in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1654

At this time we have not identified the cause of this issue nor are we certain if this is our problem or not and is not fixed in rc16.

We feel it may have something to do with Flow Control and possibly involves RSTP?

If you poll the switch too fast with SNMP you can cause excessive CPU strain and possibly cause the switch to lock up.

Liking the increased voltage!! Everything internal can handle it? It would be nice to get some more voltage into my battery banks when the temperatures drop.

You need more than 61.5V?

At 0.0° F, the correct equalization voltage for a 48V bank of Trojan T-105-RE (8 batteries) is 67.053 V. At -20.0° F, 68.387 V.

Mostly we stay below 63V during the absorption phase, but when that equalization cycle runs during the winter...

Could we use more? You bet. Can I run at 60? You bet. Can I run better at 61.5? You bet.

I'm just happy to see a slight increase! That means I can get a bit more charge into my batteries when it's cold, and I need all I can get :D

We are working on a change to allow up to maybe 80V on next production batches

Cool!

Do you plan on selling "replacement" Power Supplies?

They could be very handy to power other 48VDC gear. Especially in the off grid market.

if you need to hit 68 volts to charge your batteries properly, why don't you use a 24v bank and step the power down with a MPPT style controller ? those collect some juice in poor light condition's too. morning star makes one with a regulated output so your load isn't involved with your charging. I think your max input is some where around 140v to the 24v or 48v bank with optional regulated output
