This annoyance has been happening ever since I ssh into the switches.
On a side note bad strom here today knocked out 1 of my upstream provides and the power to 30% of my customers but netonix staying strong with poor grounding!!
the message across the top is
The configuration has changed on the device. You will not be able to save any configuration changes. Click here to reload the configuration.
Ill post a picture as soon as my hosting provider recovers

also I am usually logged into the switches from 2 different machines just to display thruput could that be causing this?

That is because SSH saved the config even if you did not change anything if you entered config mode.
