Increase Logging Verbosity

Is there a way to increase the logging verbosity? Our switches sometimes stop working with SFP or we just loose connectivity to them so we have to reboot. Is there a way to increase the verbosity so I can see in logs what actually happens other than some high level message?

Thanks!

There is no reason to reboot our switches, I have had switches running for a LONG time and only get rebooted because I have to upgrade the firmware. SEE BELOW

I have found some SFP modules that sometimes mess up but you do not have to reboot the switch simply pull the SFP module out and re-insert it.

Another possible problem you might be experiencing is the Pause Frame Storm BUG in the UBNT airFIBER and airMAX AC firmware, more information about that listed below:

As far as the log verbose that is a mute point if your rebooting the switch as the log is lost in a re-boot. Maybe try a sys-log server or not rebooting the switch instead take a laptop and console cable to the switch and investigate the issue.

Also make sure your running v1.4.1 firmware when reporting an issue as we do not investigate issues with past versions as they are done being developed.

I agree that rebooting isn't the best option. Our SFP modules on just a few switches stop working when in any of the 6 SFP slots, even after reseating them. We have no ubiquti gear on our network at this time. We do have a syslog server but all that it is reporting is SFP is faulted, and when we console in that is all that we can see. It only happens on a few of our 24 port switches, not any of our 14 port. And we are running the latest versions

Thanks!

Then I would use a different SFP module.

I had come a cross a few cheap SFP modules that acted up so I replaced them problem solved.

Thats not really an option, can't go out an buy 400 new SFP because a few act up. So there is no way to view more verbose logs to see if its a few SFP modules out of 400+ cause a switch lockup or there is some other reason?

Do not replace all 400 just the ones that are a possible problem.

I did not replace all mine just the few that acted weird and caused problems.
