Lag spike on network with Ubiquiti Discovery enabled?

I have been chasing a problem from a few customers using VoIP phones that are not under my control, they get them from their employers. They are stating consistent spikes in ping and jitter issues. I have been chasing it for about a month now and I think I may have found something of use. I posted this originally on the UBNT forum HERE and I think it may be an issue with the Discovery Protocol on my Netonix Switches. The flood of traffic I am seeing appears to be Discovery Broadcasts (UBNT and Netonix). At about the same time I noticed it started, I had installed a new WS12 switch with the latest at the time 1.4.1 firmware. I had read about some Discovery issues in previous firmware but not in this one. Everything seemed to go fine until a couple weeks later a customer complained of jitter issues with their VoIP phone. I had also upgraded a few of the other Netonix switches that are in my network as well to 1.4.1 around the same time.
So today in testing, I decided to turn off the Ubiquiti Discovery on the Netonix switches and boom, no more spikes. When using Wireshark, I still see the radio discovery broadcasts but it is a very small traffic spike, <200Kb/s compared to around 2-3Mb/s spikes before. I thought to myself, this cant be the issue, so I turned on Discovery on one Netonix switch, and boom.. its back again. Turn it off and it goes away.
So, I am just asking around to see if anyone else has experienced this issue before. Could it be a bug yet in the firmware. I have disabled discovery on the Netonix switches for now and dont really need to use it but it comes in handy sometimes.
