Hi, I we have a WS-8-150-AC switch and I would like to know that is the minimal clearance needed for correct air flow ?
Thank you

Sides, top or all the way around?
Then depends more on the environment, temp and cu feet of air, does it have air flow or sealed?
I would want at least 1/2" from any side.

It's in a sealed box and if possible, I would like to know the clearance for all the side.
Thank you for this quick reply

This is an open ended question with little information to go on, obviously the more air flow the better but I would want at least 1/2 inch to an inch.
How big is this box?
What is this box made of?
Where will it be mounted?
What part of the world is this if mounted outside?
If inside what is the average ambient room temperature?
If outside is it in direct sunlight and if so what color is it?
How much power are you push through it (POE Watts) ?
As I said, open ended question.

I'm not sure I understand why there is so much variable that will affect the clearance. Isn't the fan used for the airflow that require a certain clearance to work well ?
Otherwise, the base temperature spec will do the work (-25 to +55C). So this is my responsibility to monitor the inside temperature of our box. But this, in my point of view, doesn't affect the clearance that the switch need for proper airflow.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you

As I said a half inch to an inch should be fine to allow air flow.
It is not a hard thing to do, add up the area of all the openings on each side of the switch then calculate the space you would need for the same area for air flow to continue, I would always add a little extra to be conservative.

Ok, thank you for this clarification.
