WS-24-400B no Cpu Temp readings

Hi.

Just got WS-24-400B. I have upgraded it to 1.4.5rc8. After plugging everything in I have noticed that it doesn't provide any Cpu Temp readings. (Both in GUI/CLI).

All other stats seem to be fine. The switch itself works fine as well.

Unfortunately I didn't look prior to upgrading to the latest version so I have no comparison.

Is this something I should be concerned about? Could anyone with the same model chime in and confirm that I should/should not be seeing Cpu Temp readings?

Thanks

WOW, we shipped out last WS-24-400B back in June, where did you purchase it from?

We decided to just build WS-24-400A units instead of both A and B as the A variants sold much better.

Did the packaging look "NEW" and un-opened when you got it such as the pink static bag?

From your post:

Fan 2 Speed: 1170 RPM
Fan 3 Speed: 0 RPM

Please verify that Fan 1 and Fan 3 are running, you may have just did a show Status at the right moment and the fans did not yet spin up?

What is in ports 6, 8, 10, 11, 12?

Ordered it from UK. Mfd date on the box is 07/03/2015 on the box. 1.2.2 rev d. The box and switch looked just fine. I didn't really need more than 2 sfp ports so this model suited me.

I must have printed the stats in the CLI just at the moment the fans started, thus only one reported that it was running. Otherwise 3 start from time to time. It's pretty cold where I put the switch so they are rarely running.

Anyway when I got the switch I promptly loaded 1.4.5rc7 and turned it off. Today I brought it to the rack, noticed a new version was out. Loaded it and started plugging in radios:

As for ports
6: AF 5X
8: NanoBeam M5
10,11,12: Rocket AC Prism

Yea that is what I was looking for, thought there might be an AFX radio in there.

Please read this post viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1215#p9040

You should be able to power that AFX radio with 48V or 48VH (ports 1 and 2) but verify the MAC address first.

I will verify today if the CPU reading is a bug in firmware on the WS-24-400B or if possibly that SOC is defective.

Will it hurt anything the CPU censor not working, NO, as we only look at the Board temp to control the fans as the CPU (SOC) is rated to 125C and those internal sensors in the chip have a 10%+/- accuracy according to Vitesse.

The board sensor is our sensor so it is a lot more accurate and what we are concerned about as only the SOC is rated to 125C other board components are only rated to 75C - 85C which is why we use the board sensor to control the fans.

Please describe where this switch is located and the tower setup and grounding you have. Is the tower ground rods bonded to the electrical service ground rods?
