Cold temps WS-8-250-DC Power Supply Board Temp 4 million deg

Last night temperatures were -25 F (-31.6 C). I have two remote sites with solar.
Two days without sun and cold temperatures dropped the voltage on both below the 9V hibernate voltage. When both units came back on when the sun hit the solar panels, they both have their Power Supply Board Temperature at 4,194,296.
Because the switch thinks the temperature is so high, the fan kicks in at 8000-9000 rpm. The Power Supply Heat Sink temperatures are both at -12C.
I am running 1.4.6. I fortunately have 2 replacement switches so I am going to replace one and see how it goes. I have disconnected power from the unit, then reapplied power, but the temperature is out of bounds still. Both are beyond their RMA period and have been going well for since September 2015 so they already went through one winter of coldness.

Our first thought was to advise you to simply move to a more reasonable climate but eventually we decided this was not a practical solution.

Do you know how low the voltage went after the system entered the hibernate mode?

I do not know how low and I assume the voltage went to 9v since that is when the Ubiquiti device went offline. The only other thing that would draw power from these would be the charge controllers thus I would think the voltage would have been around 9V. I was watching these around 10:00 pm and one was at 11.4V and the other was 11.1V. I was hoping they would hold until morning, but the voltage must have dropped quickly since 11:30 pm is when one went offline.

okay, next question, is your setup anywhere near any FM/AM broadcasting, and are their any messages in log?

The closest FM/AM from one is 1.5 miles and the other would be 14 miles. As far as logs go, I have rebooted multiple times so, nothing useful there.

ok, still thinking about this....kinda doubt it is a hardware issue, I will get together with our software developer & see if we can come up with some ideas.

I just wish I could tell the fan to stop so it didn't burn extra wattage during these short sunlight and cold days. I can send these in for an out of warranty repair as well if when the temperatures rise they still are misbehaving. Only supposed to be -16F tonight. Even though moving to a warmer climate would be helpful to get out of the cold, the summers are awesome.

When you disconnected power, how long did you wait before you reconnected power?
