Power On Delay

I've requested this before and I'm requesting it again, as the problem just bit us again.

We really need a Power-on delay on the Power tab that tells the switch to only provide power to each ports after Y seconds.

ePMP APs have a heater in them. For the first minute or two of operation, they can use up to 20 watts of power. On switch hold boot, one can exhaust the power budget, causing the Netonix to reboot repeatedly until there is manual, on-site intervention, unplugging ports to that the power budget isn't exhausted. If the Netonix just had a setting that said to only power up Port X after Y seconds, this could be easily avoided.

Attached is a screenshot that shows the system under normal operation. Total power used is under 160 watts. But on a cold reboot, Ports 4 through 11 have ePMP APs on them use much more power as the heater runs at power-on.

If there was just a setting on the Power tab called Power On Delay that specified, in seconds, how long to wait after a cold boot to apply power to each Port, I could set Ports 1 and 2 and 12 to 0, Port 5 to 180, Port 6 to 360, Port 7 to 540, Port 8 to 720, Port 9 to 900, Port 10 to 1080, and Port 11 to 1260, and avoid needing to send a technician on-site to manually unplug ports to allow the site to boot up properly.

Also attached is a capture off of the serial port console of the switch. It just shows the switch rebooting over and over and over again.

Thank you again for your consideration,

Dave

We are discussing this issue internally recently and are looking at options.

What powers the switch and what is your input voltage to the switch?

Can you post up your Device/Status Tab please.
