Switch reboots then eventually gets stuck in loop

Hi,

We have a WS-12-250-AC which works fine when initially switched on, but then will start to randomly reboot and eventually ends up in a loop rebooting.

This is a known issue, it was discussed on the forums.

We had a batch of 250 watt power supplies with a defective CAP at position C51 that affect a percentage of power supplies from 1 batch. The power supply manufacturer has since corrected this issue and now tests to prevent this in the future.

Since you're in Europe the cheapest way to fix this issue would be to obtain an RMA # and send it back via Postal Mail.

We will replace the C51 CAP and DHL the power supply back to you ASAP.

We also offer that if an international customer sends in an RMA(s) either for warranty or repair they can then place an order from the web store for as many switches as in their RMA and select "Warehouse pickup" and put in the comments "Ship with RMA ####" at checkout and we will then ship that order back with their RMA(s) at no extra shipping charges.

PLACE THE ORDER AFTER YOU GET YOUR RAM #

So if they RMA 4 switches they could buy up to 4 items from the web store to have shipped back with their RMA.

They are only required to pay for the return shipping of those units not covered under warranty the rest ship free with those units at our cost.


We offer the above service to help offset the shipping costs for RMAs for international customers

Hi,

We try our best to work within people's requirements, so, We can approach this a couple of different ways, as follows:

1: We bring your device in on RMA. When we do this, we apply all the latest engineering changes to your board, upgrade the firmware, give it a run through test, and generally make sure your switch is quite up to snuff. This is either expensive or slow for overseas customer, depending on shipment methods chosen.

I spoke to Chris this morning, and we've decided that we can also provide the following option;

2: You purchase a replacement power supply, and we ship it to you using the shipment option you choose. You then replace your faulty power supply, and return the failed unit to us for repair. WHEN WE RECEIVE YOUR defective power supply; we will refund your purchase, hopefully this gets you up and running sooner.
