Latency change after update

Mon Mar 20, 2017 7:52 pm

Well I had one WS-6 mini that still had 1.4.7rc4 so I upgraded it today to latest 14 and everything behind it raised in latency. Anyone seen this? Not saying its the switch but cant think of what else could have happened. Image shows the red is the firmware update. I lost about 3ms. Thought I would shout out before I tried anything.

Nothing changed in the switch core.
Remember our firmware is just the UI/CLI/Stats and such
All switching / packet forwarding is handled in the switch core and we have nothing to do with that code.

Do the radios power off when doing the update? If so, it must be that a radio rebooted and something changed on that end of things so I will investigate further.

No we leave POE up while we reboot, down time is around 30 seconds where packets are not forwarding but POE is ON the whole time
