"got excessive pause frames" on disabled port

My log file is filling with messages regarding pause frames on a port that isn't in use (port 19) which was not only open but disabled. I am running 1.4.6 on a WS-24-400A
and plan to upgrade it but I run close to a gigabit of customer traffic through it so I'd like any info that may help resolve this issue in the event that upgrading the firmware doesn't help. I have re-enabled the port but I am still getting a message regarding excessive pause frames on this unused port.

1.4.6 i believe had a bug with port numbering in the logs.. So no, you're not getting pause frames on port 19, that's silly. I don't remember offhand what the offset was, but I think it was one of those 0-based/1-based count things that happens all the time in programming.

Please update firmware and advise if issue persists. - traffic should only stop for ~30-45 seconds during a FW upgrade.

Typically pause frames are generated because a section of your data 'pipe' is running too close to or at capacity; not going to get into a super-detailed discussion since others have done so multiple times on this forum already, that search box up there works great.
