48VH POE Extractor/Splitter

I need to power a Netonix DC switch (WS-8-150-DC) from another Netonix.
Since this switch does not have a POE-in like the Netonix-Mini, I would need some sort of POE-extractor.

Most off the shelf extractors would not support the 48VH.

Since I don't need this port for data, can I just short pins pins 1,2,4,5(+) for the positive, and pins 3,6,7,8(-) for the negative?
Or do I have to use 4-way center-tap transformer and a diode bridge?

Anyone know of an off-the-shelf device to do this?

PS - I'm aware that 48VH would provide a maximum of 1.5A, which at 48V is 72W --- less than half of what the WS-8-150-DC can handle - but that's fine, it would only need to power 3 AirMax devices, which are well below 40W, and the switch itself.

I think you did not factor for inrush current which I think would be too much for the port.

In-rush cause by the 2nd Netonix switching being powered by the first?
Do we know there would be an in-rush surge that is so meaningful or are we guessing?

You don't have to take my word for it. Search the forum for "inrush" and you will find where Chris says to allow for 300W of inrush.

I may have missed the right post, but the inrush concerns I saw were referring to AC powered units.

I had the same question as the OP, but using two separate 48VH ports to help keep current draw low (I'm only using about 35 Watts total). I've got a site that already has 2x Cat5e running up to a steeple, so I'm debating whether to use a Netonix at the base running up to a Netonix at the top, or if I need to run separate injectors / separators to get power to the top.

Make sure you get a power cable to go with it, either part number 5700049 or 5700035

The POE-INJ-1000-DINX has reverse polarity on one of the pairs. Power is supplied on all 8 Ethernet pins 3,6,4,5(+) and 1,2,7,8(-).

The POE-INJ-1000-DIN (without the X) is pinned the same as the VH ports. Power is supplied on all 8 Ethernet pins 1,2,4,5(+) and 3,6,7,8(-).

You are correct, I will have to go back and review the one I have in use to see why my use case must be different from this.

Unfortunately, the POE-INJ-1000-DIN does not appear to work as a splitter or at least is not marketed as such.

I was told by an EE who uses them that it works both ways.

For reference for the thread, with the info from lligetfa I ended up finding what I'm looking for:

High PoE 4 Pair Injector / Splitter Item# POE-INJ-1000-WT

It has screw terminals instead of the DIN connector, it has the same pinout as Netonix 48VH and they are quite inexpensive. I'm going to pickup a few for testing.

I was going to run 2 lines up to use this to power a DC Netonix and run a LAG connection, but I decided instead to power two WS-6-MINI switches on an ERPS loop, so I won't be using these on this particular project.
