Netonix Manager SMTP settings

Since I can't just email Netonix and get support, I have to post it in here. Seems pretty shitty, but what choice do I have...
I'm trying to set up the Netonix Manager SMTP settings and it keeps telling me "Invalid login: 535 Incorrect authentication data".
I've checked the UN and PW and they are both right. What gives?
A lot of these posts could simply be avoided with a well-documented user manual. I know many have asked for it in the past, as have I.

Funny, I haven't gotten any emails, phone calls, or Facebook messages.. All of which are monitored and replied to, should you choose to use them.

are passwords alphanumeric only, or are there special characters?

We do support in the forums, sorry that is our method of support which makes perfect sense as everyone can see and assist you.

Plus other users can use the search option on the forum to see if the question as been answered already before posting a question for help.

Please post up a screen grab of your Device/Configuration Tab which is what we need to see to try and assist you.

For clarification, and to bring this thread to a deserved end:

When performing a clean install of Netonix Manager 1.0.6 after installing all dependencies, adding configuration for SMTP notifications bugged out for both bhesterberg and myself.

The resolution we found was to change all values in SMTP fields, then log out, log back in, and inputting correct settings.

Kinda confused why, think it might have something to do with the way config.isModified stores config.smtp_password? Or however a proper codeslinger would say it, I just eat solder..
