So I've noticed something now across all of my switches. If the copper SFPs in the SFP ports get disturbed in anyway (and it might even be pulling the Ethernet cable out and plugging it back in), the entire SFP has to be reseated (or the switch rebooted) in order to get the interface to come back up.
Is this a known issue, or any further troubleshooting steps I can take?

Re: Copper SFPs Doing Odd Things
Here are a few post where I discussed this issue in the past.
I too have found some SFP modules that do this same behavior.
I test SFP modules in LAB before I deploy them.

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=302&p=17833&hilit=+sfp+insert#p17833
My suggested test procedure:
Put suspect SFP in switch
Plug laptop into it
log into switch and do a warm reboot from the UI
Plug and unplug my laptop several times
log into switch and do a warm reboot from the UI
If it did not mess up until this point then your fine.
As a note I have found 1 out if X SFP modules all the same that would not properly work in my switch.
Meaning I bought 10 of the same yet found 1 in the batch that did not pass the above tests

Re: Copper SFPs Doing Odd Things
Used to meet this problem like you too, the copper SFP was bought online.
Fortunately, their tech support help me solve this problem, it's just because my switch do not support sfp module with LOS. ( ̄. ̄)
Check your device to see if you make the same mistake with me. Haha
