Hello there,

Fisrt of all thank you for your amazing products.
I am a network provider for temporary events such as music festivals, fashion shows etc...

I have over 20 WS-6-mini and 5 WS-12-250-DC.

2 of my MINI's were bricked during update because of power losses (my fault)
The warranty is void on those because i had to take them out of thier case to install them in weatherproof cases.

I am willing to try firmware recovery and have acces to the header so if you would be willing to give me the pinout and voltage level of the UART/serial port I could revive those 2.

Thank you in advance

Ellyan

HDR5 is the header, pin 1 is Tx, 2 is GND, 3 is Rx (from the board's perspective). I use an FTDI TTL-232R-3V3-WE with a 1x3 pin header soldered on, pin 1 yellow, 2 black, 3 orange. Port settings are 115200, 8,n,1. Pin 1 on the board is indicated by a dot, and is the pin closest to the ports.

Careful you don't tie either active pin to ground; While the on-board UART is protected in this instance, the cable UART can be damaged if you do.

In an in warranty situation would would you guys prefer we do if we have a snag with upgrading a ws-6?

In our instance we're sure it wasn't a power related snag, just the switch never came back after.

The WS-6-MINI requires a special cable to console into it
Sadly RMA

If it less than a year old we do for free as courtesy and $25 if more than a year old.

Alright, I guess we start doing bulk RMA/repair shipments now?

But on the bright side, I've lost count how many of your switches we have deployed :D
