WS-12-250-AC rebooting / dead

Cleaning up my office I realized I've got a WS-12-250 that needs to be RMA'd.

My initial notes from July (hence the old FW :yikes: ) :
Symptoms: This was a spare switch still in the box.
Took it out yesterday to replace a WS-8 (needed more ports), upgraded to 1.4.7, configured, and put into production.
This morning I noticed it was rebooting. Acts like normal power up, but cuts out, fan sounds sick, eventually boots, then starts all over again.
Defaulted via button, now the fan comes on but doesn't boot any further - no lights, no ping.


MAC: EC:13:B2:61:DC:56
Purchased from: Netonix ORDER #145002483
Date purchased: 21-Nov-2016

Not sure if this is one with a cap issue or not.
Three of the ports were set to 24V and one was 48V
Put the WS-8 back and it has been working fine since.... now I need more ports again.

Jake -

This came out of the not-quite-right batch of power supplies we got - Open an RMA, will try to get your switch turned around pretty quickly.

Hi Guys,
I am going to RMA this ws-12-205AC, I started another thread about firmware upgrade, perhaps it was the power supply crapping out and not the power cable. Can someone confirm if this switch came from the batch mentioned above.

MAC EC:13:B2:61:C3:58

I don't have a purchase date, it has been in stock a for a bit.

Can confirm that that power supply is from the defective batch. Really sorry for the inconvenience.

Am sure Chris is breathing a sigh of relief... we've both had our share of weird things.
Must be he's been hanging around with me and my Irish luck too much :crazy:

Checking in on the status of the repair - no rush, just noticed the switch has been there a week a so.

Yes I sent it USPS :ak:
Haven't had a chance to setup UPS pickup since they closed the local office and it's an hour away now.

No worries, it sat in my office for more than 6 months needing an RMA so it's not urgent.
