This is 1.4.8, but I see nothing in the release notes for 1.4.9 regarding email alerts.
Anyhow, alerts are enabled, test email works, all checkboxes are checked, but this crazy link-flap fest generated zero emails. It did send an email when I ran a cable test. The switch seems to have some thoughts of its own on what a link up/down event is.
Known issue or are frequent flaps just ignored? I wouldn't want 300 emails, but a rate-limited "port X is flapping" would be good.
Email alerts not alerting

Will get that taken a look at, AFAIK, 'down' to 'up' or vice versa aren't treated as link changes at the moment, but that does seem kind of funny

I think it also missed a link speed change - the cable failures started a few days ago and the link hasn't stuck at 1Gb/s since then.
I'm eager to get a report from the field on how someone managed to screw up a 5' cable run. :)

those crimpers will get ya, sometimes you have to squeeze kinda hard, and if your wrist is already tired from pulling in that much cable...
