Discovery TAB Issue

Thu Apr 05, 2018 8:47 am

Hi Folks,
The Discovery page doesn't work on the Tools tab.
If there are discoverable items connected to the switch, the page displays nothing in the list and if you click the refresh button on the page, the page flashes white and returns you to the main page.
Only once did something apear, an Aruba Access Point running LLDP but it never showed again. No Cisco devices connect show either that are running CDP.

LLDP & CDP items can be found via SNMP Monitoring, thanks for getting this running, helps us a lot.

Regards

Paul

I just tested v1.5.0rc3 Discovery TAB and it works for me?

Mind you this is in our warehouse so there is not many devices to discover.

Are you running v1.5.0rc3 ? Discovery was fixed for UBNT devices in a recent version to detect UBNT devices as UBNT changed their Discovery in a recent firmware they released.

Yes we are running v1.5.0rc3 and there are Cisco and Ubiquiti on one VLAN (1001) and Aruba AP's on another VLAN (3115)
There must be a fair number of devices on there, 20 Cisco Switches, 30 Ubiquiti and 14 Aruba.
Just want to let you know that the page shows nothing and crashes with a refresh back to main page.

Thanks for the reply.

I will load v1.5.0rc3 on a tower tonight with 100+ devices and test and let you know.
I do not have any Aruba devices, wondering if this is the cause? I do not think we ever tested Aruba. Did Aruba work on previous versions?
My tower will have several Cisco, many UBNT, and some other misc devices.

In the meantime Post up the following config TABs:
Device/Status
VLANs
Device/Config (requires a little work to get the whole page in a picture, use print screen and paint to make it whole)
Device/Status

Can you test on another spare switch in your office with no major config changes from default and see if Discovery picks up an Aruba in your office?

Here's the tabs required. I can confirm that none of the 15 WS-8-150-AC I have will show any devices connected.

HughesHall - I believe this his has to do with your VLAN configuration?

I do not think this is something that occurred in v1.5.0rc3?

Install v1.4.9 and see if you see anything differnt?

We see the same issue running 1.4.9, No devices on the page and refreshing, the page flashes white and goes back to home page.
What's up with the VLANs?

I split off your issue into a new thread as this is not an issue that started with v1.5.0rc3 and at this time I am not sure this is an issue with the firmware. More information is needed.

Please make a network diagram of this layer 2 segment and provide some more detailed descriptions of your VLANs and how they work in this Layer 2 segment.

Here's a basic diagram. I'm sure there will be more questions
It all works in terms device communications, all the switches and Ubiquiti AP's are managed with the Cisco core switches on LAN 1001.
VLAN 3115 makes a L2 link back to the Aruba controllers for all the Aruba AP, No other interaction with any other VLAN.

Can you posts a picture of the POP UP menu where you configure the Trunk Port / Allowed VLANs.
