I am trying to get into the shell so I can upload the recovery and do all that stuff, but whenever I serial in the switch always hangs at the picture below. I can't type in any commands or anything. I also tried doing enter ^C that it shows but that didnt work either

If you notice at the top of your box it is asking you to press Enter to activate console mode.

You need to catch it at that point and hit enter at the right time to force console mode.
