Problems with Netonix Switch

Hi all,

maybe I am out of date, but I wanted to ask a fews questions regarding the Netonix Switch as we are (as a company) a great buyer of these. It happened twice that the Netonix Switches still operate normaly but for some reasons lost a great pourcentage of throughput and by only rebooting the Netonix Switch, it was able again to pass the throughput it should.

I made tests to evaluate the problem and it seems even a speedtest doesn't "unlock" that mode the Netonix gets in. It literally stops the traffic over a certain number or approx. around it. I had again to reboot the Switch to get the Switch back to pass the real throughput it should, and only then the speedtests were correct.

Those Switches were on the Firmware 1.4.7, but I have another question regarding the firmware, we were used to 1.4.7 et 1.4.9, but now that 1.5.0 is out and stable we decided to give it a try, but sadly after we've done one, I observed that a lot of configurations in the configurations tabs were gone, including the Storm Control which we used since we are working with Ubiquiti links and as we have STP disable because of Wireless Internet Connexion which sometimes can create lags and make STP go wild (we just prefer not to use it since bad experiences in the past).

So i'd like to know if any of you have any ideas why do the firmware 1.5.0 does not include Storm Control as well as plenty other configuration that was there in previous firmware, and as if for the problem of throughput lag, if the new firmwares corrected that problem.

Thanks in advance, if anything isn't clear enough let me know, i'll do my best! :)

No features were removed in v1.5.0, some were moved to different TABs such as QOS TAB.

Take a minute and look over the TABs

It may not be the switch that is suddenly causing you issue but the fact your using newer radios and some newer radios line have Flow Control bugs. If you still have the issue disable flow control.
Flow Control is great if used correctly and all devices implement it correctly especially in a wireless environment with variable capacity from moment to money. If you have any doubts how Flow Control work COMPLETELY it is best to not use it.
