Wattage overload without any connection

Hi all

I have a WS-250-DC and when I enable the POE on a port it immediately shows that there is wattage consumption on the port
without any device connected.

As per the attached image I have turned on POE on P1 ,2, 5, 6 and although there is no devices connected to any of the port
it indicates a wattage overload in the region of 298W.

This must be a bug in the software? Can anyone suggest a possible fix or is an RMA the only option

What version of the software are you running?

This is possibly a damaged current sensor(s)?

I would RMA it.

Hi All

It is running the latest firmware and I have reloaded the firmware again just to make sure, still the same issue, therefor I assume it
has to be damaged current sensor

Most common cause of current sensor damage and the cause of 99% of WISP equipment damage is ground current.

I would add 2 NEW ground rods to electrical service ground rods and clean and corrosion on the connections.
Make sure electrical service ground rods are bonded to tower ground rods with #2 wire.

99% of all WISP equipment damage is from ground current (I own a WISP)
Another common cause for damage is a shorted cable or incorrect POE option applied to device.

Here are some good posts on grounding:
