Is it possible to somehow add a fallback IP-address, when management interface is set to DHCP and there is no DHCP server on the network ?

Currently it does not do this but we have discussed it.

Chris, have you tested to see if using static ARP would work? A lot of embedded devices I've worked on use static ARP for the initial configuration to get in to setup the IP.
Also, MAC-Telnet/MAC-SSH... anything to save having to fiddle with a serial console cable as a last resort.

I lost contact to a switch. It hasn't for some reason got an IP-address from the DHCP server. Quite annoying that I have to connect console cable. Fallback IP-address would be better choice as I know that one of the ports is configured to untagged on the management LAN.
@Sirhc please!

Just my .02. but why would you ever depend on DHCP for a management device? Seems to risky.
Mac-telnet/ssh with a little app to discover it would seem way more useful to me than fallback-ip.

May I know what was the last few changes you do that caused the switch to not obtain an IP from your DHCP server?
The same issue happened to mine & I will like to trace if we did the same thing to cause this to happen.
In my case, everything still work, i.e. I can still hit the external network via devices that are hooked up through the switch, it's just that I can't hit the switch's admin page via its last-known DHCP-assigned IP address.
