VLAN programming
What I want to accomplish with my WS-8-150-AC is: I want ports 1, 3, 5 & 7 assigned to WAN traffic only, and ports 2, 4, 6 & 8 to be assigned to LAN traffic only. I assume VLANs can be used, but I have no clue how to set them up to accomplish this. Will you please give me complete step by step instructions? Thank you.

Re: VLAN programming
There is not enough information here to suggest a setup.
It would be easy to simply divide the switch into 2 logical switches with 2 VLANs but something tells me this is not the full story or your goal.
Could you make a diagram with say MS Paint and provide more details, a lot more details.

Re: VLAN programming
Yes, you phrased it much better. My goal is to divide the switch into two logical switches. So that ports 1, 3, 5 & 7 pass all of their traffic to each other only, and ports 2, 4, 6 & 8 pass all of their traffic to each other only. In an attempt to additionally clarify, ports 1, 3, 5 & 7 cannot communicate with ports 2, 4, 6 & 8, and versa.

Re: VLAN programming
Then Fine below is an 8 port switch broken into 2 logical switches
Ports 1,3,5,7 one logical switch
Ports 2,4,6,8 another logical switch
Ports 1,3,5,7 can not talk to 2,4,6,8
Catch 22: You can only access the switch UI/CLI on Ports 1,3,5,7 as they are the only ports present in the Management VLAN 1
