I have a micro pop into a neighborhood. We use a WS 6 for these rooftop hops. We have a WS 6 there and it keeps locking up. Went out today and the thing is crazy hot. We have it in the grey plastic box that Netonix sells for them.
I figure the added radiated heat from the black asphalt roof is just too much for the switch. We relocated the switch off the roof into the same box in a shaded area. We are still climbing up to 92 c cpu and 87 c phy temp. What is the shut off point for these? May need to look for another solution. We are in Kentucky moderate temps here. Temp peaked today at 81 degrees ambient air temp.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Re: WS 6 TEMP Issue
People put them in very hot environments with no issues.
Maybe you have a bad unit or possibly a unit with defective 3V CAPs, I would RMA the unit.
If its over 2 years old maybe it is one of the units with bad 3V CAPs which we will still fix for free.
Details on the 3V CAP issue is on the forums:

Details on how to test if 3V CAPs are defective are in this post:
