Crashed / Off net but still passing packets

Hi,

We have a 12 port AC WISP switch, when we removed an SFP from it it dropped off our network.

It's still providing POE power, passing traffic and generally working but its lost all management access (won't ping / not http)

We've connected via serial and can see processes running (http etc) it can ping itself, we've tried restarting the network etc but no joy.

We've not tried restarting the switch service, I assume this may fix it without shutting down POE?

What's the best way to bring it back to life without powering it totally off?

Restarting the switch process will not shut down POE. Just checked on the same model to be sure.

Thanks for the reply, we tried the above POE & did remain up, but didn't resolve our issue.
Am I correct in assuming a reboot via CLI would also keep POE up, as restarting individual services didn't help unfortunately??

Yes it should also remain up (Just tested this as well) via the command:
Code: Select all
reload cold

Keep in mind though, when the switch reboots, RSTP now has to reconfigure all of the port status's. So there can be a brief delay in packet transmissions while it is working. This should only last a few second's and PoE will not drop because of it.
