I purchased two WS3-14-600-AC switches for their 10 Gbps SFP+ ports, not really caring about external temp and humidity sensors. But I included the sensors with the switches when I sent our guys out to install them.
Both switches are indoors in telecom closets on upper floors of high rise apartment buildings in Boston in winter, i.e. I'd expect ~70 degrees and low humidity. Instead I look at the log and I see:
Feb 4 17:00:11 switch[45]: External Sensor: humidity has gone above set threshold, threshold: 80 current value: 239
Feb 4 17:00:14 switch[45]: External Sensor: external temp has gone below set threshold, threshold: 20 current value: 19
Feb 4 17:10:34 switch[45]: External Sensor: humidity has gone above set threshold, threshold: 80 current value: 239
Feb 4 17:10:37 switch[45]: External Sensor: external temp has gone below set threshold, threshold: 20 current value: 19
Feb 4 17:55:33 switch[45]: External Sensor: humidity has gone above set threshold, threshold: 80 current value: 239
Did my guys disconnect the external sensor while installing the switches?
And in any event, how can the humidity go above 100%?
Also, what are the thresholds for and how can they be set?
