High current reading on port

I've had a WS12DC switch installed now for about 12 months powering a Mini6 with 48VH. The Mini6 is located about 12 feet away. The Mini6 then powers a single AP via POE. The other devices on the mini6 are non-poe.

I noticed today while adding an additional Mini6 to my network that the port on the WS12DC powering the Mini6 reports 80+ watts. This is incorrect. The mini6 itself only reports using a total of 15-20W. Also I confirmed with a clamp on amp meter the total power being used by the WS12DC is less than 50W. If I move the Mini6 to another port on the WS12 the power reading is correct. The incorrect power reading appears to be tied to the port.

I've searched the forums. Other issues similar to this appear to be related to tower installations which this is not. Any chance this is a firmware issue?

Not unless your switch is running on old firmware, if it's not on the latest you can get it here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=240

But it's much more likely you've got a damaged current sensor. You can go to https://rma.netonix.com/ to start an RMA to have it repaired if you wish.

Thank you for the info. I've moved the Mini6 to another POE port(port 3), current sensor readings there are correct. I've moved a non-poe device to the port w/ the incorrect current sensor readings(port 1). Is there much risk of further failure on this port if I delay repair?

To the best of my knowledge, no it shouldn't. PoE should work fine without the sensors, it just can't tell you reliably what the power output is on that port.
