WS-8-150AC - Safe to use again?

I had an issue today with an WS-8-150-AC. It is a revision F board MAC EC13B2D10FC8. What happened is suddenly all ethernet links went down. I know this because my 2 backhaul radios (primary/backup) were still powered up and reachable but they both showed no link.
I climbed the tower and could see all APs on the tower powered up but with no ethernet links. I then manually powered off the switch (unplugged) and then plugged it back in. When it came back the green power light came on but nothing else came on. As it was at the top of a tower on a raining day I just replaced the switch with a new one and moved on.
Brought it back to the office and hooked it up to a laptop and still no ethernet links just a power light.
I decided to try defaulting the switch using the reset button and now the switch is back at defaults with ethernet links again.
What might have happened and is this switch safe to use again or should it be retired?
