I have installed 1.3.0rc6 on a MINI and enabled SNMP.

I have hundreds of these in the switch log now. The IP address is my monitoring server.

Code: Select all

May 22 15:30:31 mini_snmpd[754]: could not handle packet from UDP client 177.36.XX.XX:14778: Bad address
May 22 15:30:34 mini_snmpd[754]: could not handle packet from UDP client 177.36.XX.XX:14778: Bad address
May 22 15:30:37 mini_snmpd[754]: could not handle packet from UDP client 177.36.XX.XX:14778: Bad address

Any idea what could cause this?

In the next release we will allow you to enter in an IP address (your logging server) to ignore and not log

Chris,

I had to disable SNMP. The web interface would quit every few minutes (the red box ... Attempting to reconnect...). I had enabled the SMTP and Ping watchdog options this afternoon. But it seemed to back to normal only after I disabled SNMP.

The switch itself didn't stop passing traffic and I logged in to it via SSH and that never stopped working...

My best guess is your monitoring server is sending SNMPv1 queries to the switch. As of 1.2.1 SNMPv1 is not supported any more (security issue).

If 1.2.0 works and 1.2.1 doesn't then that is the problem.
