Firmware upgrade

Hi

I have a Netonix WISP Switch WS-6-MINI. I have never updated the firmware on a Netonix switch. The current firmware is 1.5.5.

Is it the same firmware for all models of WISP switch?
Can it be updated directly from 1.5.5 to the latest version?
So do I just need to install Latest WS Stable Release: v1.5.12?

I'll take a backup of the switch settings but is there anything else I should also do?
If the upgrade fails and it doesn't boot up then what the best way to fix it?

Thanks

It should upgrade fine from that version.

The WS-6 in the only model without a serial port so you would be in trouble.

I would reboot the unit before upgrade if it has been up a long time, that is good practice especially if a unit is not easy to get to.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Is it the same version of firmware for all models?
Is WS Stable Release: v1.5.12 the correct one?

Thanks

Is there a way to do a Firmware upgrade via SSH? If so, how?

Easiest way is find a computer with older browser like IE or you can change security settings in most browsers to support older TLS

But yes you can upgrade via SSH

A quick search of the forums gave me this post: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1377#p10162
