SFP ports flap on RSTP settings change, why?

I have found an issue (maybe related to this thread as well) - whenever I change RSTP settings (port priority in my case, BUT on different port, not on SFP!) then SFP port goes down/up for about 3-4s. Is it expected behaviour?

Code: Select all
Jun 3 10:45:24 UI: Port 2 STPPriority: changed from '144' to '112'
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 2 to discarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 3 to discarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 9 to discarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 10 to discarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: MSTI0: New root on port 2, root path cost is 80000, root bridge id is 8192.04-18-D6-06-D9-69
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 2 to learning
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 2 to forwarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: MSTI0: New root on port 3, root path cost is 80000, root bridge id is 8192.04-18-D6-06-D9-69
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 3 to learning
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 3 to forwarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 2 to discarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 10 to learning
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 10 to forwarding
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 9 to learning
Jun 3 10:45:30 STP: msti 0 set port 9 to forwarding
Jun 3 10:45:36 Port: link state changed to 'down' on port 14
Jun 3 10:45:39 Port: link state changed to 'up' (1G) on port 14

I filed a bug report about this last year.

This started happening around mid 1.5.

Also happens if I do any VLAN changes. Problem presists even with STP disabled.
