WS-8-150-DC Power Issue

Fri Jan 20, 2023 4:04 pm

I have a customer with 9 of these units configured exactly the same. They are running on solar power running a Cambium ePMP 1000 2.4 GHz radio and a PTZ camera. The camera is in Port 1 on 48V (0.75A) and the radio is in Port 2 on 24V (0.75A). All have been very reliable except one. On the main GUI page 8 of them show a total wattage of 32 watts +/- a watt or two. The one that I have issues with shows 90 watts +/- a couple watts.

I have tested with a meter at the DC connections on the switch and all 9 are running at 25.6V x 1.25A = 32 watts and all except the one described above are showing correctly on the GUI.

The problem I have is that the one showing 90w occasionally will go off line for several days at a time and when I go out on site the system is shut down due to low voltage determined by the solar controller.

All switches are running the same firmware 1.5.14

Any suggestions would be appreciated

bad/missing current sensor will usually read around 60W if memory serves, so unplug everything but keep the port live and see if one of the ports is still reading 60W, if so, mark that port bad and use another
