I see in the data sheet these are rated at up to 55* C operating temperature. Inside of a vented enclosure, in the Arizona sun near Phoenix, where ambient temperatures exceed 49*C, what are the chances of survival in this type of climate? Most sites will be solar-powered, and areas with AC power, 6-MINIs will be used for micro-pops. Any opinion/insight would be greatly appreciated!

Adding additional shade cover over the enclosures also helps. You don't want the sun beaming directly onto a single wall enclosure.

And for God sake do not paint a dark color, WHITE is best. But add the passive vents if you can. They are cheap and easy to install.

Great info, similar to the box we're rocking with a thermostatically controlled POE fan enclosure. We have three 12 port DC units in it DIN mounted and have seen 114*F so far this summer in California.

Airflow and shade are two best friends to have.

So far we have one WS-8-250-DC and one WS-12-250-DC cruising along in the Arizona sunshine on their second summer... both cabinets have ventilation fans. We also have 16 of the WS-12-250-AC switches workiing happily in the same environment - and on their second summer as well.

Just today I was looking at Netonix manager and noticed one location was showing about a 15 degree lower temperature compared to other locations... As I wasn't familiar with that location I checked with one of our field guys and he confirmed that there is some shade on the cabinet.

So, plant a tree if you can or mount the cabinet in the shade if you can (e.g some of our utilities sites use shade cover - cloth roof - over the equipment: makes a nice difference for the equipment and for any poor soul that has to do a service on it). At the very least keep the air flowing so the cabinet doesn't turn into a solar oven.
