24Ghz has a very very small fresnel zone, a nearby link shouldn't matter unless it is nearly parallel. Maybe someone else can chime in on a success story with an AF24 and a nearby 24Ghz link....

My link would probably be 10-15 degrees different then the competition.

4.6 miles is way to far for af24 with out a back up link.

There are two AF24 here in town (one is ours the other belongs to the city) and both seem to be unaffected by each other. We did channel plan together tho.

I wouldn't dream of running a 24g link without a backup. I'm really concerned about what sort of throughput I could even expect to see on that link. Does anyone have a AF24 links close to 5 miles that could chime in with what' they're seeing?

I'd bet you'd see full modulation and the whole 774Mbps, until a drop of rain fell out of the sky. :)
Our 2.7 mile link drops in anything over a drizzle. Luckily it'll be going away this summer.

That's one nice thing about being in the high desert. Not that much rain. Snow, well that's another story.

we just recently had a foot of snow fall here and it was blowing around quite a bit at times. never bothered our 2.77 mile link at all.

I just ordered a pair of AF24. I was considering the HD version but for double the price I'll start small.

I just got an offer from a customer, provide them free service for a vacant tower site. The site it's self isn't very useful for customer access, but I just found out Centruylink and L3 both have access fiber within 1000 feet! Unfortunately both of my main distribution towers are right about 15 miles from the site. Looks like 6foot dishes!

SAF. Solid financial history with no sign of going out of business... unlike Exalt. Also, good warranty, very solid hardware.

We're running an 11GHz SAF link at ~11 miles, 366Mbps, and it's an older unit (Lumina). Integra is even better.

Have you successfully run your Lumina on the Netonix switch? I'm trying to sort through the manual saying they are -48 vs the switch putting out +48 on the PoE.

How is price of SAF link compared against AF24 (Not HD) ? Is it way more expensive ? (I know bandwidth is different on each product and you need license for the SAF).
